The Torah never commands children to love their parents, nor parents to love their children.  And yet generation to generation is a central theme of Jewish thought and liturgy.  What do parents owe children, and what do children owe parents?

There are people in the world who want to hurt us and destroy us.  How are we to deal with them when  we are asked to love our neighbor.

At the center of the Torah is the commandment, Love Your Neighbor As Yourself.  Can feelings, particularly feelings of love, be commanded?  Or is this simply a commandment of action.  How are we to act towards others, regardless of how we feel about them?
